Funky Food Friday: Vanilly Crunch, and other short-lived cereals

So what's the short-lived cereal that you remember best? For some reason, mine is Vanilly Crunch, a vanilla-flavored Cap'n Crunch version whose mascot was Wilma the Winsome White Whale.

In the commercial below, she swims up to Cap'n Crunch's ship, blows him kisses, and then opens her mouth to reveal box after box of the stuff.

Cap'n Crunch also had another short-lived flavor, Punch Crunch. Who wants fruit punch-flavored cereal? Why was a hippo their mascot?
