Bootie socks with pom-poms

Were bootie socks with colored pom-poms a 1970s or a 1980s thing?

Who knows, maybe they existed before then, but I sure remember them being a part of my childhood.

Are they still around? Probably, but maybe not as popular as they once were.

80s. At least in Canada, but as been noted elsewhere, Canada doesn't always get trends in the same decade as the US.

Tennis socks, mmy mom used to call them. I remember them well from the 1970s, and I miss them. Those little pompoms had a purpose; they acte as anchors so the footies didn't slide down into your shoe! I wear footie socks all summer, and am always pulling them out of my sneakers.

Definitely a 70's thing, and on into the 80's. I started playing tennis after watching Chris Evert play in the 70's and I was rocking the little pom pom socks every time!

My kids have those now. Got them at The Children's Place 2 or 3 years ago. They had a variety of colors for the edge and the pom-pom.

It was a 70's thing. Had all colors alone with jelly shoes
